Maria BachmannHailed by The New York Times as "a violinist of soul and patrician refinement", Maria Bachmann has been a featured soloist around the world and has been profiled by Mirabella, Time Magazine, CD Review and New York Newsday as one of the premier artists of her generation. Ms. Bachmann has been honored by Musical America and New York Newsday as "Outstanding Artist of the Year". She has been soloist with Leonard Slatkin and The National Symphony at Kennedy Center, with The St. Louis Symphony, and she has performed recitals at Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater, San Francisco's Herbst Theater, Merkin, Weill and Town Halls in New York, Boston's Jordan Hall, and at the Phillips Gallery and Library of Congress in Washington, DC. An eminent proponent of contemporary music, several of America's most prominent composers including George Rochberg, Leon Kirchner, Paul Moravec, and Sebastian Currier have written works for her. Acclaimed the "most exciting young violinist around" by New York Daily News, her diverse recordings range from the Beethoven and Mendelssohn Concertos on BMG/Conifer, to Lou Harrison's Suite for Violin and String Orchestra on Koch International Classics. Ms. Bachmann has also recorded for Argo, CRI, and the Connoisseur Society. Maria Bachmann studied at the Curtis Institute of Music with Ivan Galamian and Szymon Goldberg. She is on the faculty of Adelphi University in New York. Alexis Pia GerlachCellist Alexis Pia Gerlach enjoys an active career as a soloist and chamber musician, and has performed throughout the US, in Canada, Brazil, Israel, Korea, Japan, Switzerland, Italy, France, India, China and Uzbekistan. She has collaborated as soloist with such conductors as Mstislav Rostropovich, James DePreist, and Peter Oundjian, and has appeared as a guest artist with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the New Jersey Chamber Music Society, and at numerous festivals including Marlboro, Caramoor, Piccolo Spoleto and Aspen. Ms. Gerlach's recordings of the Rachmaninoff and Franck Sonatas with pianist Fabio Bidini are released on the Encore Performance Recordings label. Recent solo performances include recitals at the La Jolla Chamber Music Society and the Caramoor Festival, concerto appearances with the Orchestra of St. Luke's, the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra and the Charleston and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras. Ms. Gerlach studied with Aldo Parisot at the Yale School of Music and The Juilliard School.

David HardingViolist David Harding has performed in such venues as the Berlin Philharmonie, Concertgebouw, and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. His performances have been broadcast on BBC, NPR and Deutschland Radio and he is frequently featured on CBC Radio in Canada. David regularly performs at chamber music festivals including the Seattle Chamber Music Society, Strings in the Mountains, CO, Sitka Chamber Music Festival, AK. David is a member of Trio Verlaine and has made chamber music recordings for Sony, Crystal, Chesky, Innova and New Albion record labels. David’s latest CD projects include a recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations, with Triskelion for CBC records, Brahms’ Viola Sonatas and Horn Trio for Skylark Music and an innovative disc of flute, viola, harp works by Ravel and Debussy with Trio Verlaine for Skylark Music. He is currently Professor of Viola and Chamber Music at the University of British Columbia. David plays on a viola made by Pietro Antonio della Costa, Tresviso Italy, circa 1750. Hsin-Yun HuangHsin-Yun Huang is recognized as one of the leading violists of her generation, and she came to international prominence in 1993 when she was winner of the top prize of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich and the Bunkamura Orchard Hall Award. In 1988, Ms. Huang was the youngest-ever Gold Medalist of the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition on the Isle of Man. These and other honors have propelled a career as soloist and chamber musician on stages of major concert halls throughout North America, Europe, and the Far East. Solo performances have included concerto appearances with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra in Munich, the Zagreb Soloists in Paris, the Tokyo Philharmonic in Tokyo, the Berlin Radio Symphony, the Russian State Philharmonic, and the Naumburg Orchestra in New York City’s Central Park. Ms. Huang has collaborated with many distinguished artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Jaime Laredo, Joshua Bell, Menahem Pressler, Joseph Silverstein, and Michael Tree. Ayano NinomiyaThe New York Times hailed violinist Ayano Ninomiya’s 2004 New York debut recital in Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall as “deeply communicative and engrossing.” The second-prize winner of the 2003 Walter W. Naumburg International Violin Competition and a winner of Astral Artists’ 2003 National Auditions, she has been heard on a “Rising Stars” concert at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Since her debut with the Boston Pops under Keith Lockhart, on its opening night in 1999, Ms. Ninomiya has appeared across the U.S. as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She has been featured as soloist with the Boston, Zurich, Harrisburg, and Southwest Florida symphonies. As a JAL “Classic Special New Artist,” she has been presented in recital throughout Japan, including a debut recital in Tokyo’s Suntory Hall. She also gave debut recitals on the Ravinia Festival’s “Rising Stars” series, BankBoston’s “Emerging Artist” series, Chicago’s Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, and at Boston’s Gardner Museum. Wendy SutterWendy Sutter, cello, is well known as a champion of new music, and enjoys a career as an international touring soloist of major works from today’s leading composers including premieres of Tan Dun’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Concerto”, and the US premiere of Philip Glass’s Cello Concerto. Having received degrees from both The Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, she made her solo debut with the Seattle Symphony at age 16. In 1994, she premiered “A Suite of Dances”, a duet choreographed for her and Mikhail Baryshnikov by Jerome Robbins playing select movements from Bach’s solo suites. From 2000- 2008 she was the cellist of Bang On a Can “All Stars” touring internationally and recording extensively. Ms Sutter has participated in numerous festivals including The Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society, Marlboro, Evian, and Mostly Mozart at Lincoln Center. In 2007, she gave the critically acclaimed world premiere of “Songs and Poems”, a solo piece written for her by Philip Glass.
