2012 TELLURIDE MUSICFEST 10th Anniversary Festival in Telluride, CO and Trio Solisti presents "VIENNA to BUDAPEST"

Telluride Musicfest presents four chamber music programs with founding ensemble Trio Solisti- Maria Bachmann, violin, Alexis Gerlach, cello, and Jon Klibonoff, piano- and their guest artists in programs featuring masterpieces of chamber music from Vienna to Budapest.

2012 Guest Artists:
Toby Appel, violin and viola, Matt Haimovitz, cello, Hsin-Yun Huang, viola, Kathryn Lockwood, viola, Adam Neiman, piano.

Additionally, there is a local talent night and open rehearsals for subscribers. Musicfest gives a scholarship every year to a local music student.

In past seasons

the founding ensemble, Trio Solisti, described by the critics as "three of the most sought after artists of their generation," performed programs including masterworks of Beethoven, Mendelssohn Schubert, Ravel and Shostakovich. Branching out from the classical tradition, Musicfest has presented Le Grand Tango, Jazzy Classics, Americans in Paris, and From Russia With Love. Maria Bachmann, artistic director of Musicfest and the trio's violinist, promises that "what you will hear at our concerts are the pieces we most enjoy playing".

The Founding Ensemble

Trio Solisti is violinist Maria Bachmann, pianist Jon Klibonoff and cellist Alexis Pia Gerlach. As a trio they tour all over the country and individually they have performed with major orchestras and festivals the world over. Movie Night

Friday, July 6 - at The Telluride Public Library at 7:30pm

"Orchestra of Exiles" - a film by Josh Aronson
The film follows the story of legendary Polish violinist Bronislav Huberman and how he saved the lives of hundreds of Jewish musicians and their families from Europe during the Nazi era. Putting his career on hold, Huberman made this his life's mission, preserving the musical culture and heritage of the Jewish people, and forming the Israel Philharmonic.
